Blue Horizon is a Longmont based ensemble specializing in Gypsy
Jazz, nu-grass, folk and jazz standards. Their sets range from
Django Reinhardt and David Grisman to Fats Waller and George
Gershwin. The sound is composed of two guitars, fiddle, mandolin
and electric bass plus soulful vocals and choirboy harmonies.

The members of the band have been friends and have played
together in various configurations for nearly three decades. Their
combined musical experience covers rock, folk, blues, jazz,
classical and bluegrass.

Dan Ault   - violin, mandolin and vocals
Zach Bergen - lead guitar
Peter LeVine - guitar and vocals
Frank Tonge - electric bass and vocals

Blue Horizon played two terrific sets.  There were lots of guitar
players at the festival.  We all tipped our hats to a master.  Zach is a
guitar player's guitar player!

Headlining the Longmont Swing
Festival was Mango fan Django,
the only band to participate that
is not from Boulder County.
Mango fan Django hails from
Colorado Springs.
Archtop Eddy delivered his solos
on a 1939 Gibson ES-150 -- the
same guitar as used by Charlie
Christian.  Their set was a tasty
mix of Django Reinhardt, modern
jazz manouche, and Benny
Goodman classics performed
with grace and style.  No one sat
still.  The pavilion was filled with
dancing couples.

Annie Lenoir, clarinet
John Cabanellas, bass
Don Doucette, rhythm guitar
What a great band!
